Portrait de Marcos Filardi

Marcos is a human rights and food sovereignty lawyer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Convinced that the only way out is collective, he weaves and inhabits different networks that promote and defend agroecology, food sovereignty, dignified science, human rights and Buen Vivir, like the People’s Health Movement (PHM), the Network of Free Chairs on Food Sovereignty (Red Calisas), the Network of Lawyers for Food Sovereignty (REDASA), the Collective of Human Rights “Yopoi”, the Union of Scientists engaged with Society and Nature in Latin America (UCCSNAL), the Union of Assemblies of Communities (UAC), the National Network of Municipalities and Communities that promote agroecology (RENAMA), the Laicrimpo National Movement and others. He facilitates the “Museo del Hambre” (the Hunger Museum), a space of convergence for food sovereignty whose political aim is to lock hunger once and for all in a museum. He loves to travel, lives in a mud and grass african hut in Buenos Aires built with friends and he is now engaged in the most beautiful journey in his life: seeing his little daughter, América, growing, smiling and discovering the beauties of life with eyes wide open.
